Tori is now a Therapy Dog!

Cindy and Tori were tested today and are now recognized by the National Delta Society as a Dog Therapy Team.

That's Ernie, our cat, on Tori's bed. Ernie seems to enjoy flaunting that he is king of the roost.

Tori went to the Farmer's Market today and saw a fleet of Greyhounds (retired racing dogs) lined up with their owners for a photo opportunity.--too bad I left the camara at home.

Tori, Canine Good Citizen

The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) is a big deal. We were pretty high strung, as were the rest of the candidates, as the pups worked through the paces of the exam. Next on the docket is the Therapy Prep Class, that will begin in the Fall. Congratulations to Cindy and Tori for working so dilligently and earning this prestigious award!

Tori LOVES the Snow!

Tori visited her "cousin", Anna today and played with her special pink ball. Wow, she is really good at fetching! We're teaching her to retrieve the object directly to our hands, as if we were confined to a chair or bed.

Tori has graduated from Puppy Class!

Tori passed her puppy class with elegance and has the certificate to prove it. The her "test" required sit/down/stay and three different agility tasks. Tori did great and is seen above celebrating with her little friend, Lola. Cindy and I are thrilled with Tori's ability to learn and are looking forward to starting the "Basic Obedience" class next week. In addition to the Puppy Class tasks, Tori has now mastered "shake a paw", "roll over" (which is actually a double reverse roll-over!), and she will "fetch" until she drops from exhaustion. She also is really skilled at walking on the treadmill, a task that comes in handy when it's 2 degrees outside.

Welcome to dogtherapyisheeling

Please welcome Tori (Victoria) to Wisconsin. She flew via United from Texas yesterday and after a delayed flight, arrived at O hare, cute as a bug!

She had her first Puppy Class tonight and has already mastered "sit" and "down". Good Girl!
